26th – 28th June 1993. Glastonbury ’93. Free.

Lenny Kravitz.

Not sure why I went to see this probably due to me having MTV access all of a sudden. Pretty much as you’d expect the gig to be. Professional, able but nothing mindblowing…

Stereo MC’s.

This gig on Stage Two was well suited for the festival. Quite a few of their tracks were very familiar due to Radio airplay, etc and this was a fun gig enjoyed by many…

The Kinks.

Watched about half of their set and listened / half watched the other half from the tent. Before my era but of interest all the same.

Grant Lee Buffalo.

I guess I was hoping they’d be the new Husker Du. They were being shaped, marketed and reported on in that vein. Sadly not up to the standards of Minneapolis fines. Again not bad though…

John Ottway.

If he plays at Glastonbury and i’m there i’ll go and see him. Odd that. Not a big fan or anything but really an artist that fits the festival so well. A good entertaining laugh pretty much guaranteed. Check out the OGWT video if you get time. Pretty much transmits the fun of his shows.

The Lemonheads.

Evan Dando was hanging round the artist entrance gate and was just playing guitar on his own before going onstage. Looking back they were at their peak here and have some quality material from that era.
