22nd May 2009. Antony & The Johnsons. Symphony Hall. Birmingham.

Bit scared that the speaker on the very high ceiling at the Symphony Hall would fall on me – (it was right above my seat). Still I guess this would be more of a concern if ACDC were playing this venue. Great acoustics and sound.

The set started very mournful. The sound of the singers voice really has to be heard. Just when I thought it’d be all mournful the singer revealed a wicked sense of humour. The band can play and the songs though heavy material are undeniable quality. One to catch if you can..
