Rui Da Silva – Touch Me.

In 2001 what was initially quite a bland sounding dance track hit the Number 1 spot in the U.K.

Touch Me by Rui Da Silva is a rare beast of a chart smash. It slowly reveals a much wider space and sound. It is massively ‘loved up’ yet has a searching sound to it too. After like three unplanned listens or so I reassessed my take on the record – it happened quite naturally. It’s a pretty unique song from a genre that I usually do not have much time for. For a chart topper to be such a deep house record is pretty rare too, has there even been another one.

Time flies but this song still sounds pretty darn fresh 11 years later…
