Don’t Let Go (Love) was released at the point where the Spice Girls were rocketing to huge stardom. The single was a timely reminder that ‘girl power’ could perhaps be just a tad deeper.
Initially it takes a few listens before the hook of the song grabs you but when it does the track almost takes on classic rock proportions. The single, deservedly hung around the charts for an age.
I used to love playing it instore in the record shop I worked in and watch people mouth the words. Great vocal performances by the whole group and the way the track stays very slow but powerfully gathers sees it pretty much untouched by the years passing – It’s a pop scorcher…
